Project

Timed It!

I led the redesign of Brisbay's website to address poor navigation, high bounce rates, and low engagement. By creating a modern, user-friendly interface with responsive design, we improved user experience, resulting in a 40% increase in engagement and a 30% reduction in bounce rates. This redesign significantly enhanced lead generation and positioned Brisbay ahead of its competitors.

Problem

  • Children aged 5 to 9 struggle with learning to read analog clocks due to a lack of engaging educational resources.

  • This gap hinders their mastery of a fundamental skill, affecting their understanding of time and math.

  • The absence of engaging tools impacts children’s cognitive development negatively.

  • Educators face challenges due to limited effective teaching tools for clock reading.

  • Parents experience frustration in helping their children learn this essential skill.

Solution

  • Developed a colorful and interactive board game designed to engage children in learning analog clock reading.

  • Incorporated physical activities within the game to make learning more dynamic and enjoyable for kids.

  • Boosts competitiveness among children, encouraging them to improve their skills and knowledge.

  • Enhances children's confidence through positive reinforcement and achievements during gameplay.

  • Provides educators and parents with an effective, hands-on teaching tool for a fundamental skill.

Design Process

  • Understanding objectives

  • Studying research papers

  • Reviewing existing products

  • Developing protocols

  • Conducting quantitative research

  • Creating task flows

  • Mapping user journeys

  • Performing cognitive evaluations

  • Developing mental models

  • Creating conceptual models

Project Learnings

  • Gained insights into the importance of creating engaging and interactive educational tools for young children.

  • Learned how to design for children’s cognitive levels, incorporating elements that are visually appealing and easy to understand.

  • Developed skills in integrating physical activities into educational products to enhance learning experiences.

  • Understood the value of boosting confidence and competitiveness in children through game mechanics and positive reinforcement.

  • Improved collaboration with educators and parents to ensure the product is practical, effective, and aligns with educational needs.

  • Enhanced my ability to test prototypes with users (children) and gather valuable feedback for iterative design improvements.
